A Day Without Rain was originally a collaboration between Lexa and myself a few years back. When we decided we wanted to make a shrine to Riza the fanlisting had just gone on trouble at AFL.org, so we jumped on the opportunity and Lexa wrote a long, detailed and brilliant article as to why we love Riza. Thanks to her we were granted the right to run Riza's fanlisting, intending to build a shrine around it.
Well, that never happened and the years crept on. Sadly Lexa left the web and I took sole charge of ADWR. It remained static, with the layout unchanged and the site page eaten by hackers for a few years. I was always so ashamed to look at it because I knew that Riza deserved so much more than what I was giving.
When the Girl Mode challenge started at Amassment I jumped at the opportunity for some extra motivation for me to get the site of the ground and give the design a good once over. It was just the sort of event I needed and I just managed to scrape in on December 31st with a semi complete Riza shrine.
So much thought went into this site. Whenever I had to wait for anything (doctors appointment, coffee, bus etc.) I would whip out a little pink notebook and start jotting down ideas for articles. I'd sit there for a few minutes just pondering the point I was trying to make, turning it over in my mind. Although my information section is far from large, it still took a very long time to get to the finished product of one article.
There are still many things I wish to add to this site. Riza is probably my favourite fictional female character ever, so I really want to make this dedication the best that it can be.
Here are the previous designs for A Day Without Rain.
This was the version first version, created years ago when Lexa and I had first intended to make a dedication to Riza Hawkeye. It uses various images from the manga and a subtle, pastal colour palette.
